Police forces in crime-wracked Papua New Guinea have been ordered to shoot on sight any members of an armed hold-up gang disguised as officers.
Police Commissioner Gari Baki announced the tough measure following two recent bank raids in which armed robbers dressed in stolen police uniforms held bank staff hostage, and escaped with more than 3 million kina ($1.33 million).
