Papua New Guinea's new corruption buster is in hiding, accused of taking bribes from Asian people smugglers.
Chief Superintendent Awan Sete became a fugitive two weeks ago and is on a list of 66 officers involved in an investigation. He was recently appointed head of the police's anti-corruption squad.
Three court warrants had been issued for Sete's arrest for corruptly receiving goods and for deals with people smugglers, officials said.
