A domestic airliner skidded off a runway and crashed into a disused air traffic control tower after landing last night on the Thai island of Samui.
One person died and seven were injured, police said.
There were 70 people aboard the Bangkok Airways flight from Krabi.
"The plane was damaged," said an official.
"The weather was bad, and it was raining when the plane skidded off."
Thai television Channel 7 said at least half a dozen people remained on the plane. The others were evacuated.
