Pitcairn website launched

The monthly newspaper of the Pitcairn Islands goes live on the internet today, offering a glimpse of life on one of the most remote populated islands in the world.

Miscellany, produced by the island's schoolteacher and students, covers events from average temperatures and fish catch to a diary of island activities.

Subscriptions to the website cost US$10 ($16.50) a year; the cash will be used to upgrade the school.
