British billionaire Lord Michael Ashcroft, known in New Zealand for his philanthrophy and anti-crime schemes, is under fire at home over his tax status.
Lord Ashcroft, who in 2008 offered $200,000 as a reward for the return to Waiouru Army Museum of 96 stolen medals, promised 10 years ago he would become a full tax resident in order to gain a peerage but it still not paying British tax on income earned abroad.
