Sarah Palin and the Tea Party have recorded another victory in the Republican primaries with their candidate in Alaska winning against the odds.
Joe Miller, a little-known conservative lawyer backed by the former vice-presidential candidate, beat incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski to claim the party nomination for the Senate.
Palin has now seen 12 out of 20 candidates she has endorsed win their primaries.
