JERUSALEM - A Palestinian man stabbed to death an ultra-Orthodox Jew with a large kitchen knife in Jerusalem's walled Old City on Wednesday, police and a hospital spokeswoman said.
A police spokesman said earlier the stabbing, in which a second ultra-Orthodox Jew was moderately wounded, had a nationalist background and police were pursuing the attacker.
The killing was the first since Israel completed its pullout on Tuesday from 21 settlements in the Gaza Strip and four in the north West Bank.
A Jewish settler shot dead four Palestinians in the West Bank on August 17, the first day of the pullout.
