A Palestinian group behind many suicide bombings in Israel has been given money by the Palestinian Authority in a bid to deter such attacks..
The BBC quoted Palestinian minister without portfolio Abdul Fattah Hamayel yesterday as saying the authority sends US$50,000 ($82,168) a month to the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a group linked to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction.
Hamayel said the money was given to militants to try to deter them from suicide bombings.
