The British Government published five options for road schemes around Stonehenge yesterday, including a tunnel under the site. The circular monument of massive stones in Wiltshire lies between two busy roads.
Other options include a covered tunnel, new roads further to the north or south of the monument, retaining the A303 but shutting the A344 road passing the north side. A final report is due mid-year.
