KEY POINTS:
Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare has lambasted government department heads and administrators for slackness and lack of punctuality.
Somare harangued his officials during a start-of-year pep talk after learning on the way to day-long meetings that a large number were running late.
He described public sector lateness and slackness as a "disease that spreads" and urged government agency representatives to pick up their game for the good of PNG.
