President Barack Obama has written his first children's book, profiles of 13 inspirational American pioneers.
The book, Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters, features a cover picture by the illustrator Loren Long of Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia walking the family dog, Bo, in a grassy field.
Among others, Obama pays tribute to George Washington, the first President, Jackie Robinson, who was the first black major league baseball player, and Georgia O'Keefe, the ground-breaking artist.
At 40 pages long, the book will have a first print run of 500,000 copies.
