New Zealand soldiers in East Timor have shot dead another militia member after a clash six kilometres north-east of Suai.
The incident happened early this morning as a group of militia approached the soldiers.
Senior National Officer, Brigadier Lou Gardner, says there was an exchange of fire and one of the militia was shot.
It is the third time a militia member has been killed by New Zealand troops in the past six weeks.
