KEY POINTS:
New Zealand millionaire businessman Ballu Khan has pleaded not guilty to five counts of conspiracy to murder the interim Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, two Cabinet ministers and senior military personnel.
Khan appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar in the High Court at Suva yesterday, the Fiji Times has reported today.
It is alleged that Khan conspired to murder Commodore Bainimarama, the interim Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, the interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry and two senior military personnel Colonel Samuela Saumatua and Lieutenant-Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho.
Justice Goundar adjourned the case to February 29 for the charges against Mr Khan to be consolidated with the other 10 accused who are implicated in the case.
Khan, a New Zealand citizen with business interests in Fiji, is on bail.
