NZ man missing in flooded northern India

A New Zealand man is missing in a flood-stricken area of northern India.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it heard about the man through the Israeli Embassy.

Spokesman Chris Wilson says the Ministry is trying to get hold of him through our embassy in New Dehli. He says it is also working with embassy officials from other countries.

Mr Wilson says there are a number of Europeans who have been affected in the same area.

He says the difficulty is that there is very bad flooding and telecommunications are down.
