The New Zealand Air Force is being kept busy ferrying people out of the Solomons.
Two planes, a Boeing 727 and a Hercules, are continuing to fly in and out of the capital Honiara, as reports of escalating violence in the troubled nation filter through.
About 170 evacuees are expected to be flown into Townsville in Australia today.
The New Zealand frigate Te Mana is standing by off Honiara to assist with evacuations if required.
