A former New Zealand based-doctor has been charged with the murder of Australian socialite and former model Maureen Boyce.
It is understood the pair recently rekindled a relationship.
Dr Tom Lang, an American living in the Bay of Plenty, is said to have been staying with Boyce at her Brisbane home for two weeks when he called emergency services on Thursday morning to say he had found her dead in her bed.
He reportedly told police he had discovered Boyce's body with a single stab wound to the abdomen.
