SYDNEY - A woman has been charged with the murder of a toddler at his family home on the NSW Central Coast.
The 17 month-old boy was found dead in a bedroom of the home on Manoa Rd, Halekulani about 7pm (AEST) on Monday.
Paramedics, Tuggerah Lakes police and forensics officers were called to the home but were unable to revive the boy.
Police said a 32 year-old woman was taken to Wyong Hospital in an unconscious state and placed under police guard as she received treatment.
The woman was released into police custody on Tuesday before being taken to The Entrance Police station and interviewed over the toddler's death.
She has been charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday.
A post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death of the toddler.
