Despite downpours that caused extensive floods across New South Wales, latest figures show an increase in the areas affected by drought. The proportion of the state officially considered in drought rose by one percentage point to 81.8 per cent. A further 13.8 per cent is considered marginally in drought, with less than 5 per cent satisfactory.
