Two North Korean naval boats briefly crossed the tense western sea border with South Korea in the first violation since a southern warship mysteriously sank there in March, the South's military said.
A North Korean patrol boat intruded about 2.8km but retreated after a warning. Less than an hour later, another patrol boat entered southern waters but turned back after a warning broadcast and two shots from a southern vessel.
