Junk food will be a thing of the past at Nato as burger bars and pizza restaurants at its Afghanistan bases are being closed down.
A Nato spokesman said "amenities" at bases across the country were to be phased out for logistical reasons.
"Soldiers will still be able to eat pizzas and burgers - but served up in military canteens rather than in commercial outlets," a spokesman told the BBC.
Last year Nato's top Afghanistan commander, General Stanley McChrystal, expressed concern that fast food restaurants were a distraction to military missions.
