Nissan Motor Co. in the United States is recalling 48,700 trucks and sports utility vehicles with a suspension part problem, but the recall won't apply to vehicles in New Zealand.
Nissan parts manager Shaun Hickman said that he was not aware of any planned New Zealand recall. He said many of the trucks were not sold in New Zealand.
The US recall will cover some, but not all, 2010 Nissan Armadas, Frontiers, Titans, Pathfinders and Xterras and Infiniti QX56 models.
The problem centres on a lower suspension control link, which may not have been welded properly. It could cause the bushing collar to crack, leading to a rough and noisy ride.
