A Swedish woman on honeymoon with her British husband has been killed in Cape Town after being abducted by armed men, police in South Africa have said.
Two hijackers ambushed the taxi she and her husband were in on Saturday night.
After forcing the driver out of the Volkswagen people carrier, the two gunmen released the 31-year-old millionaire husband Shrien Dewan in a township eight kilometres away after robbing him.
The body of 28 yr-old Anni Dewani was later found slumped in the back of the vehicle in another part of the township.
Regional tourist authorities said the couple married two weeks ago.
Western Cape police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut, said the car had been hijacked by two armed men at 11pm local time.
Lt Col Traut also said the couple had arrived in the country on 12 November for their holiday, and that the hijackers had not been caught.
