A speech Brett Kavanaugh gave at Catholic University's Columbus School of Law in 2015 is coming under new scrutiny.
It was supposed to analyse whether judges should behave like umpires in a baseball game.
But Kavanaugh decided to share his personal connections with the District of Columbia-based university.
"By coincidence, three classmates of mine at Georgetown Prep were graduates of this law school in 1990 and are really, really good friends of mine," he told the audience.
"Fortunately, we've had a good saying that we've held firm to to this day, as the dean was reminding me before the talk, which is 'What happens at Georgetown Prep stays at Georgetown Prep'. That's been a good thing for all of us I think."
Christine Blasey Ford, a 51-year-old research psychologist and professor, has accused Kavanaugh of pinning her to a bed and tried to undress her at a high school party in 1982, when she was a 15-year-old student at another private school.
