Nine people were arrested yesterday as anti-deportation protesters again clashed with riot police outside the Baxter detention centre in South Australia.
Sixteen people have now been arrested in the three-day protest on the outskirts of Port Augusta.
Police said four of those arrested yesterday were believed to have thrown a grappling hook over a perimeter fence of the detention centre in an attempt to gain entry.
Several protesters were injured in the clashes.
