Aid workers are on high alert following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that stuck Nepal yesterday.
The quake, which has killed dozens and injured hundreds more people, hit 82 km east of Kathmandu, near the town of Namche Bazaar, at the base of Mount Everest.
It has struck less than a month after the devastating April 25 quake that left more than 8,000 dead.
New Zealand Red Cross spokeswoman Hanna Butler said the five Red Cross aid workers from New Zealand in Nepal were safe but on high alert following the quake.
A statement released by the group said assessments of the damage had begun.
