Nauruan police have charged 15 Iranian asylum seekers with causing $24,000 damage at the island's processing centre.
The Nauru Police Force completed investigations on Friday and have formerly laid a range of charges, the Nauruan government said in a statement.
The incident occurred on September 30 and was described by Australia's Immigration Department as a "minor disturbance".
There was minor damage to kitchens, tents and lights but no staff or asylum seekers were injured, a department spokesman said.
Refugee advocate Ian Rintoul said the charges were politically motivated and aimed at intimidating the asylum seekers.
