Sudan's regime came under renewed world pressure yesterday when Nato said it could use its logistical might to supply thousands of African troops for the war-torn region of Darfur.
The move is the first concrete sign that the West's most powerful alliance is prepared to underwrite a military presence in Darfur.
But it came as aid workers expressed fears that Khartoum's regime might use them as convenient targets for retaliation.
