British police have charged a North African man with the murder of a police officer during a raid which was part of a nationwide investigation into terrorism.
They said the 27-year-old man had also been charged with four counts of attempted murder following the raid on a flat in Manchester.
During the raid police held three men for an hour before one broke free and stabbed policeman Stephen Oake in the chest. The man injured four other officers.
Media reports have linked all four men with the discovery of traces of deadly poison ricin during a raid on a North London flat.
