Monks in UN protest

Protesters at the United Nations building in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo forced workers to stay in their office to demand the world body end its investigation of rights abuses alleged during the civil war.

Hundreds of flag-waving men, including Buddhist monks, staged a sit-in opposite the building.
