Mocking Trump: The Donald does movies

The internet's mocking of US presidential candidate Donald Trump has hit a new high - or low - with a Twitter game that makes the mogul a movie reviewer.

In a stinging satire of the Rebublican candidate's pithy Twitter barbs and blow-hard boasts, thousands of clever social media users have been explaining the plots of famous movies just like Trump might.

The Twitter phenomenon comes just as New York City's parks department took its own tongue-in-cheek pot-shot at Trump.

After taking down a naked statue of Trump that some crafty sculptor had created, the department told AFP in an email: "NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small."

The Herald picked its top 20 contributions to the #TrumpExplainsMoviePlots trend.

1. Jaws (1975):
