PERTH - The 11 people missing in a remote West Australian national park have been sighted, but will not be rescued for some time, police have said.
Ten tourists and a tour guide have been missing since yesterday afternoon, with two rescue teams resuming the search in the in the rugged Karijini national park in the state's northern Pilbara region at first light today.
At 10.55am WST (2.55pm NZT), a WA police spokesman said a visual sighting had been made of the group, but they had not been contacted at this stage.
Graeme Clifford, from WA police media, also said it could be some time before they are rescued.
"It is not over yet, but it appears they have been found safe and well," Mr Clifford said
