North Queensland police are baffled by the disappearance of a Cairns teenager.
13-year-old Declan Crouch has been missing for two weeks, and now police in the state have made a nationwide appeal for information regarding the teen.
He was last seen standing on a Cairns street by a school friend who waved to him from her mother's car late in the afternoon on March 9.
Yesterday his family released home video as police ended a large-scale search of bushland and waterways in the northern Cairns suburb of Machans Beach, the Courier-Mail reported.
The search included the Barron River, a known crocodile habitat.
Police say there's nothing to suggest Crouch has been abducted, but his disappearance is "a complete mystery".
The case has brought back memories for locals of the 2003 disappearance of Daniel Morcombe, who was 13 years old when he was adbucted from a bus stop on the Sunshine Coast. No trace of Morcombe has ever been found.
