A nine-year-old girl from Spain who went missing for seven months has been rescued from deep in the Amazonian rainforest.
The child went missing last August when her Bolivian neighbour 35-year-old Grover Morales took her on holiday with her parents' permission.
Her parents, who are Moroccan residents in the Catalan city of Hospitalet de Llobregat, contacted local police when they could not contact the neighbour or their daughter for several days after they expected them to land in Bolivia, TheLocal reported.
Spain's Civil Guard, Catalonia's Mossos d'Esquadra police force, and Bolivian authorities worked together to locate the girl and her captor.
The pair was eventually discovered deep in Bolivia's remote Cochabamba region, a part of the Amazon rainforest barely accessible by car, according to Catalan daily La Vanguardia.
