Military veterans from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and Britain have won clearance to sue the British Ministry of Defence for radiation exposure during nuclear tests in the 1950s.
The ruling, by Justice David Foskett in the High Court in London, exposes UK government to a potential compensation bill of hundreds of millions of dollars.
About 1000 veterans witnessed tests in the South Pacific and Australia between 1952 and 1958.
