The media in Fiji have been instructed not to refer to Ratu Timoci Silatolu as the new interim Prime Minister of Fiji, despite his being appointed by the leader of today's coup, George Speight.
Anish Chand, from the newsroom of the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, says it's a relief to see the military finally stepping into action.
He says they still regard Mahendra Chaudhry as Prime Minister, although he is being held hostage inside parliament.
Anish Chand says one shop has been set on fire and several others have been damaged by protestors.
He says police have been outnumbered so far, but the police commissioner and officers, along with fire service are now on the streets trying to calm things down.
