Sri Lanka's military said last night that its forces have entered the Tamil Tiger rebels' last stronghold of Mullaittivu in the country's northeast. Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara says the troops fought their way into the town and were waging battles with small pockets of rebel fighters. The fall of Mullaittivu would mean the rebels had lost the last town under their control.
