Don Johnson, 53, star of US television shows Nash Bridges and Miami Vice, was stopped in November by German customs officers who found credit notes and securities worth as much as US$8 billion in his car.
The car, in which Johnson was travelling with two other people, was searched as he entered Germany from Switzerland on November 6, said a spokesman for Germany's Customs Crime Office in Cologne.
"At this stage, we're only assessing the documents."
