Two Mexican medics are breathing easier after dropping a transplant heart on the ground. The mishap was caught on camera by journalists. The heart was on its way to a hospital in Mexico City - by ambulance, jet and then helicopter to reach 28-year-old Erika Hernandez.
Video footage shows the two men collecting a cooler from the helicopter and running towards the hospital. The men drop the cooler - and the heart rolls on to the concrete, with a saline bag. They stuff the bag back into the container and race towards the hospital. The operation was a success, and Hernandez was discharged yesterday.
