SYDNEY - Four men will face court on NSW's north coast today after an out-of-control party at Yamba during which police were pelted with bricks and a police car was set on fire.
Police sustained minor injuries when up to 20 people, including a 16-year-old girl, attacked them at an industrial complex in Deering Street, Yamba, about 2.30am on Sunday.
The police officers were forced to retreat on foot and the patrol car was set on fire.
Another car, believed to belong to a party-goer, was also destroyed in the fire.
Two police officers were injuries, while the total damage to the two vehicles is estimated at AU$50,000.
Thirteen people, including the owner of the complex and his wife, were arrested.
All of them have since been charged with serious offences, police said.
A 50-year-old Yamba man, 22-year-old Maclean man, a 20-year-old Yamba man and an 18-year-old Yamba man were charged with riot and malicious damage offences and will appear in Grafton Local Court on Monday.
A 21-year-old Wooloweyah man, two 19-year-old Yamba men, an 18-year-old Woombah man, a 17-year-old Yamba boy, 17-year-old Woolgoolga girl, two 16-year-old Yamba girls and a 16-year-old Maclean girl have each been charged with riot and malicious damage offences.
They will face Maclean Local and Childrens Courts on April 13.
