Melbourne mother attacks toddler with axe

Surgeons in Melbourne are fighting to save a toddler's leg after his mother allegedly attacked him with an axe.

The 17-month-old was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital. Police later said the boy's mother was arrested at the scene and would undergo a psychiatric assessment.
