Thieves have stolen a man's brand new car while he was helping rescue a child from a busy Melbourne road.
Police say the 39-year-old man was driving on Rosamond Road at Maidstone at about 7.15pm local time yesterday when he spotted the child on the road and pulled over to help.
While he was assisting the child off the road, his car, a black Ford Ranger he purchased just before Christmas, was stolen.
The man's house keys, wallet and laptop were also inside the stolen ute.
Footage and images have been released of two men police wish to speak to, as well as of a yellow Ford the pair may have been travelling in prior to the incident.
