A man lay dead for up to 10 weeks in a building frequented by drug dealers and sex workers before his decomposed body was found, the Herald Sun reports.
Neighbours made complaints for weeks to their landlords about a foul stench lingering throughout their Flinders Street apartment complex, the newspaper says.
Police escorted a landlord to an apartment complex on Flinders Street on Monday afternoon and found a man so badly decomposed they were unable to identify his skin colour.
The Sunday Herald Sun reports neighbour Tom Peric, 23, saw police arrived at the building and the crime scene.
"He was laying there on the middle of the floor, all his mail was piled up next to him," he
told the newspaper.
