Man sets himself ablaze by Brisbane courts

A man has burns to 90 per cent of his body after setting himself on fire outside the Brisbane Supreme and District Court complex.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang and then seeing the man in flames.

An ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were stabilising the 39-year-old at the scene.

"He's in a critical condition," she said. "He will be transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital."
