Man sacked after delivering his own poo to pharmacy

A delivery man has been sacked after he took a poo into a medicine container before delivering the container to a pharmacy by mistake.

John Flood said he "got taken short for a toilet" on his round so decided to poo in an empty tote used to deliver medicine.

But the delivery man forgot to remove the No 2s that he planned to dispose of after he became busy with other activities.

Unfortunately, he made the "awful mistake" and delivered the faeces to Limerick Pharma Logistics in Ireland.

Shocked staff at the pharmacy contacted the operations manager of the pharmaceutical firm the drugs had come from via the delivery man, after getting an "unpleasant smell" from the container.

The manager then opened the container with a pharmacist to find out what Flood had left behind.

After realising he had delivered his own poo, he rang the operations boss, telling him he "could not believe that he had made an awful mistake".

Flood was immediately suspended without pay. He said he suffered from a bowel condition called colitis and was under stress as he was separating from his wife.
