LONDON - A petty thief wanted by Italian police investigating the murder of British student Meredith Kercher has been arrested in Germany.
And a bar owner held since the discovery of her body in Perugia has been released from jail for lack of evidence.
Rudy Guede, a 20-year-old student with joint Italian and Ivory Coast nationality, was stopped by police after he tried to board a train in Mainz, southern Germany. Kercher, 21, had her throat cut on November 2 after she apparently refused to take part in an extreme sex game.
