ADELAIDE - A 23-year-old man who managed to drive his car on three wheels for more than 25km has been charged with various traffic offences.
Australian police said the man's licence was suspended after he showed an alcohol reading of 0.173 in a breath test yesterday at Hahndorf, in the Adelaide Hills, where his damaged car came to a halt.
The car had been involved in an earlier collision.
"It's alleged that the car had been driven on three wheels for a distance of about 25.5km with police finding significant gouging in the road surface," a police spokesman said.
"He had allegedly driven through Stirling, Aldgate, Mylor, and ended up in Hahndorf due to the rims being so damaged that the brakes were ground through, causing the vehicle to stop."
The man will appear in court at a later date.
