A man who inflicted horrible cruelty on three of his pet dogs has been banned from owning pets for five years.
Queensland man Nathan Douglas Houlison was punished after leaving his three dogs abandoned in a home surrounded by rubbish and faeces with no food and dirty water, which led to the dogs being severely ill and starving.
Between October 2012 and August 2015 the RSPCA received 14 complaints against Houlison.
All three dogs were riddled with ticks and fleas, while the two elder dogs were infested with hookworm and the younger dog's toenails were so long she could barely walk.
