A tattoed man has been arrested after he allegedly claimed to have a baby in a bag at a Labrador service station.
The man allegedly entered the BP on Frank St about 10.30am with a bag, telling the cashier there was a child inside and making threats towards its safety.
Police have confirmed there was no child and have taken the man into custody after finding him in Southport this afternoon.
The claims sparked an amber alert and a manhunt across the central and northern Gold Coast.
No one was injured, or in danger, due to the man.
