A "disruptive" passenger who allegedly threatened passengers on board an international Qantas flight is in the hands of Hong Kong police.
A Qantas spokeswoman said a man travelling on a QF029 flight from Melbourne to Hong Kong early on Thursday morning became disruptive about four hours into the journey.
The spokeswoman would not confirm reports the man threatened to kill passengers on the flight, saying the incident was now a police matter.
"The aircraft was met by Hong Kong police," the spokeswoman said.
"Our cabin crew are trained to deal with these situations, ensuring the safety of passengers is not compromised."
None of the 280 passengers on the aircraft was harmed during the incident, she said.
A source close to the airline said the man had failed to comply with several safety instructions before cabin crew were forced to restrain him.
