QUEENSLAND - Police have charged a 20-year-old man over the abduction and murder of eight-year-old Bundaberg girl Trinity Bates.
The girl, known as Trinny, was abducted from her home in south-east Queensland on Monday morning and her body was later found in a nearby drain.
Her parents raised the alarm when they discovered she was missing and their Walker Street house had been broken into.
Her death sparked a major investigation - homicide detectives and police from across the state were sent to Bundaberg to help.
Police questioned several people in relation to the case.
A 20-year old Bundaberg man who was questioned yesterday was charged with murder overnight.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court later today.
